LSAC Releasing February LSAT Scores Today, On Schedule

LSAT score release day is always stressful. The uncertainty. The waiting. The drinking.

Right on schedule, LSAC is releasing February LSAT scores today. I always feel like February LSAT score release day is even more stressful than the other LSAT score release days. With every other LSAT administration, you can go back over your test, see what went wrong, and beat yourself up for those stupid mistakes. Demoralizing? Yes. But not nearly as stressful as just getting a number and forever wondering what went wrong.

I’ve got a few more of you drinking now, don’t I?

The February LSAT is a weird beast, so the advice I give to those receiving their February LSAT scores today is also going to be a bit wonky. Read Entire Article…

The February LSAT Hangover: What About Your LSAT Score?

For those of you who aren’t Saturday Sabbath observers and/or still digging yourselves out of a massive snowdrift, today marks 48 hours since the February LSAT. Your answer sheets are on their way to LSAC’s headquarters in Newtown, PA (I like to imagine the process as going something like this).

If you’re still waiting to take the February LSAT because of Nemo, we’ll have advice for you on the LSAT blog tomorrow. This is for those of you whose February LSATs weren’t delayed. You may be debating whether you should cancel your LSAT score and you may be wondering how in the world you’ll pass the time until your LSAT score is released.

First, let’s talk about the decision whether to cancel your February LSAT score.

2013 February LSAT Instant Recap

While some (extremely annoyed) pre-law students are spending today digging out from under Nemo instead of taking the February LSAT, the rest of the country is sitting down for five sections of what the LSAC assures us is “fun.”

If you took the February LSAT today, stop in and leave some comments below! And if you’re one of the unlucky people stuck under a few feet of snow, read about what you missed out on.

Initial reports coming in suggest that Logical Reasoning on the February LSAT was the hardest section. There were a few killer questions mentioned.

Upon Closer Inspection: The 2012 December LSAT

If you took the 2012 December LSAT, you should have received your LSAT score after a long and painful holiday waiting period. For me, those few weeks consisted of ample beer, lots of movies, and very little work. I can only hope some of you fared so well.

So, what about the December LSAT itself? I seem to remember walking out of the LSAT testing center thinking that it had been a fairly straightforward LSAT. In general, I thought Reading Comprehension was easy, Logic Games were moderate, and Logical Reasoning was tricky. Friends of mine who took the December LSAT more or less agreed with me.

Let’s take a closer look at what really went down:

My first section on the 2012 December LSAT was Reading Comprehension.

Confidence in Your December LSAT Score Waning? No Sweat

The wait for an LSAT score can seem interminable. If you took the December LSAT, you’re in the thick of it right now. To make matters worse, your perception of your LSAT score may be sinking like a certain early-20th-century ocean liner, only without a soundtrack provided by Céline Dion. Losing confidence in your LSAT score is a perfectly normal, if disconcerting, phenomenon. Not unlike Miss Dion.

This all happens because you remember enough about the LSAT to sow doubt in your mind about your performance. On the other hand, it’s very hard to remember enough about the LSAT to reassure yourself about the answers to any LSAT questions. You’re also more likely to remember things about the harder questions, the ones you weren’t sure about, than about the easy ones.

December 2012 LSAT Blog Carnival

If there’s one common feeling about the December LSAT that is floating around the internet, it is that the exam seemed easier than the October LSAT. It’s hard to tell if that really was the case, and contrary to popular belief, the LSAT curve will not be a clear indication.

Nonetheless, people have had plenty to say about the December LSAT. To see what I mean, check out the comments in our December LSAT Instant Recap and December LSAT Morning Cometh. But that’s not the only place where people are talking about the December LSAT.

Hop on the December 2012 LSAT Blog Carnival and let’s ride around the interwebs to check out the chatter:

The Morning Cometh: Reaction to the December 2012 LSAT

Another year, another December LSAT. I’d wager you woke up a little later and in a little less pristine condition this morning than you did yesterday. Now that your December LSAT answer sheet is on its way to Newtown, Penn., you’re probably feeling a little differently than yesterday.

I’ve heard from a number of students, and it sounds like yesterday’s LSAT didn’t hold any big surprises. While there were some hard questions as always, no one’s reporting anything too strange.

By most accounts, Logical Reasoning was fairly normal. The exception is that there may have been several crux questions, whereas usually there’s at most one on a given LSAT.

December 2012 LSAT Instant Recap

The last month of the year is upon us, and so is its last LSAT. Across the country, thousands of students filed into their December LSAT testing centers and sat for what could be the most important test of their lives.

Maybe you were one of them. If so, what’d you think? Chime in in the comments. Just remember that all comments have to be approved. We can not publish any comments that discuss specific December LSAT questions or directly suggest which topic was believed to be the experimental section. If your comment isn’t approved, it’s likely because it violated an LSAC policy.

Now, here’s what we’re hearing so far about the December LSAT:

Under Closer Inspection: The October 2012 LSAT

If you took the October 2012 LSAT, you should have gotten an email today from LSAC SCORE with the subject line “Your October 2012 LSAT Score.” LSAC may have its faults, but not being explicit ain’t one of them. And once you click on that email, as I’m sure most of you have, there it is. Three little numbers saying how you did on the test. Then, if you’re like most people, it’s straight to the bottle, either to celebrate or to grieve.

(If you haven’t gotten your October LSAT score back it’s probably because they lost your test, or because they’re waiting until the end to give out all the really bad LSAT scores.)

(Kidding.)
