Game of Thrones and LSAT Prep: A Match Made in Westeros
Fans love Game of Thrones for its intrigue, deceit, and wry humor. Of course, anyone studying for the LSAT knows that LSAT prep embodies the same qualities.
Pardon? You didn’t know that? Fear not, dear reader, for all shall be explained to you (and in prose as gripping as George R.R. Martin’s).
(Note: There aren’t any specific Game of Thrones spoilers in this article, but I will allude to things that are happening in the current season. Beat Today’s June LSAT Early Registration Deadline
If you’re planning to take the June LSAT but you haven’t registered for it yet, stop reading and go register through LSAC right now. Anyone who registers for the June LSAT after 11:59 p.m. will have to pay a $69 late fee. That’s like letting LSAC steal 260 chicken nuggets from you.
For the June LSAT Fence-Sitters
Not sure you want to take the June LSAT? Well, here are some things you have to think about:
First, the June LSAT is the only test administration offered at 12:30 p.m., the rest are offered at 8:30 a.m. So, if you’re not a morning person the June LSAT is for you.
Second, getting the LSAT out of the way by June will give you plenty of time to focus on getting some awesome recommendation letters and putting together a sweet personal statement.

Caption Contest II Winner of Online LSAT Course Discount
If you had too many margaritas last night celebrating Cinco de Mayo, don’t worry. Blueprint LSAT Prep has a little humor to cure your hangover.
We recently held our second LSAT blog caption contest, and the submissions were silly fun — much like our readers (and Blueprint LSAT Prep Facebook fans).
Last week, we saddled up the above photo and asked LSAT blog readers to submit a funny caption — ideally one that is LSAT or law school-related. The submissions were pretty solid. We even got one from veteran Blueprint LSAT Prep instructor Jay Donnell: “Wish I knew how to acquit you.” Funny, Jay, but…ineligible!

A Guide to Blueprint Prep-Area June LSAT Testing Centers
As you know, the LSAT is a huge deal. It consists of nothing more than pencil and paper, but your performance on LSAT test day could very well determine your entire legal career. Therefore, there’s a lot of tension on these days. The last thing you need is some sort of distraction with the LSAT testing center room.
Scroll through the comments any of our LSAT blog’s past LSAT test day instant recaps, and you’ll find, unfortunately, that distractions are rampant in LSAT testing centers. Oftentimes it’s an annoying or inexperienced proctor. Sometimes it’s the chairs they put you in. Either way, it’s not uncommon for months of intense LSAT prep to go to waste because LSAC can’t consistently maintain their LSAT testing centers. And there are a lot of LSAT testing centers.

What Matt Shinners Would Do if He Were a Law School Dean
Big news from Blueprint LSAT Prep today: After nearly a decade of prepping kids for law school, we’re prepping for law school ourselves. Only we’re not attending one. No, dear LSAT blog readers, we’re forming one. And yours truly has been tapped as dean. Be it my pedigree, experience, or the way my profile will look on marketing materials, we’re planning to hit the ground running.
How will our law school be different? I’m glad you asked.
First, we’re going to get you some work experience. But not just in an area you pick. We’re implementing a rotation between different clinicals your first year. Much like law firms will have new/summer associates “try out” different practice groups before assigning them to one, we’re going to have you rotate between different areas of law in that first year of law school.

Things I Learned During My Time as an LSAT Prep Instructor
After many long seasons of teaching for Blueprint LSAT Preparation, I’m leaving the exciting world of LSAT prep and heading into the private sector. It’s been a lot of fun. My five years helping people get into law school have taught me a lot about the LSAT, and not just in regards to how one deals with a tiered grouping game.
Things such as:
The LSAT makes you a smarter, better person. When people first see it, they’re often frustrated by how the LSAT has seemingly nothing to do with the law. With tests like the MCAT, you’re at least being tested on things that you’ll use in your profession. But fear not, because the LSAT is good for you. It makes you better at spotting flawed arguments, better at quickly reading dense material while parsing out the relevant information, and gives you a better attention span.
