Things to Do the Day Before the February LSAT (Except Study)
Happy February LSAT eve, everyone.
For those in the Northeast affected by Nemo, check out this blog post for details about any February LSAT cancellations. We’ll be updating it throughout the day with the latest info from LSAC. If you are among those affected, hunker down with a bowl of soup and do some LSAT questions to stay fresh. If you are not among those affected, please, continue reading for some handy advice regarding recommended activities for the day before the February LSAT.
Today should be a mental day of rest. The only LSAT-related thing you ought to do today is make sure you’re logistically ready to go tomorrow. Make sure you have the route to your LSAT test center mapped out.

Make Your Worst Section Your Best Before the February LSAT
Today is January 9. The LSAT is on February 9. Unless you failed the third grade, you know that this means you have precisely one month until LSAT test day.
Ideally you’ve done a substantial amount of studying already, and your LSAT skills have been growing stronger by the day. But often people find that there’s one pesky section where things just aren’t clicking. Maybe you’re finding that you’re always missing a bunch of questions in Reading Comp, or you’re never able to finish Logical Reasoning, or perhaps you’re just not quite getting Logic Games. Well, whatever your weakest section may be, with practice you can turn it around this month and make it your strongest section by February LSAT test day.

How to Prepare for an Emergency LSAT Retake
There are people marked by fate. Some are destined for greatness, such as the presidency or the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. Others, for notoriety, such as Nixon and whoever invented mayonnaise.
And, for some, the fickle finger of fate reaches out of nowhere to make their LSAT disappear.
Taking the LSAT is bad enough. But to find out your hard work fell off the back of the truck is even worse. Unfortunately, a few now know how this feels. To make up for it, are they offered gold and riches beyond their wildest dreams? Or, even better, a 170+ LSAT score (like when your roommate commits suicide in college)? No.
They’re given one week to prep for an LSAT retake.

The Toughest Questions From the October 2012 LSAT
Now that the dust has settled from the release of the October LSAT (as well as its LSAT scores), it’s time to take a look at the actual meat of the test. There were a number of different questions that people struggled with, but I probably heard more complaints about the following three than any others (excluding the zones game and !Kung reading comp). We can’t reproduce the questions in full, so if you took the October LSAT look at your test PDFs to follow along.
Toughest October 2012 LSAT Question No. 1: LR 1, #13
Building material controversies. It doesn’t get much more exciting than this. In this question we learn that there’s some rogue construction material called papercrete. Most builders think it’s no good for big buildings.

Out With October LSAT Prep, In With December LSAT Prep
December brings lots of good tidings: Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, the solstice, New Years Eve, Festivus, and perhaps even the tail end of your Thanksgiving food coma. But let us not forget the December LSAT. It’s on its way just as surely as Santa in his sleigh.
No, that’s not right; the December LSAT is considerably more certain.
There’s relatively little time between this past Saturday’s October LSAT and the December LSAT. As such, if you intend to take the December LSAT, it’s time to get your butt in gear. Start your LSAT prep now. Don’t slack on that LSAT homework and think you’ll catch up later. There’s just too much to do in the next two months.
Even so, as long as you get to work you have enough time to get ready for the December LSAT.

Recent LSAC Trends to Watch For On the October LSAT
The October LSAT is little more than a week away, so it’s a good time to look at some trends on recent LSATs. Keep in mind that we at Blueprint LSAT Prep don’t have ESP, nor do we have spies at LSAC, and therefore we can’t know which trends will continue on October’s LSAT and which ones won’t. Take everything below with a grain of salt.
First, the big one: In case you haven’t heard, LSAT test takers this June were surprised to find that each LSAT logic game was spread over two pages rather than one. This leaves much more room to write out scratch work. LSAC has confirmed that this will continue. If you haven’t done so yet, take a look at this June’s LSAT so you can see how the new format looks.

To Succeed on LSAT Test Day → Learn to Diagram
If you want to have a successful LSAT test day, you need to learn to diagram. There are lots of ways I could say the same thing: Only if you learn to diagram will you succeed on LSAT test day, for example. Or: no one who succeeds on LSAT test day doesn’t learn to diagram.
One of the reasons diagramming is so great is that it lets you get all these statements down to the same logical structure:
Succeed on LSAT test day → Learn to diagram
Conditional statements such as the above are all over the LSAT. Many Logical Reasoning question types are chock full of them. Grouping games, especially the In and Out variety, often have nothing but conditional statements as rules. And conditional rules pop up not at all infrequently in ordering games as well.

What to Bring (And What Not to Bring) on LSAT Test Day
June LSAT test day is almost upon us, and you should have everything you need for the LSAT ready in advance so that you don’t end up scrambling Monday morning. Be sure to check out LSAC’s page of regulations for LSAT test day; here are some highlights of what to bring and what not to bring.
Item #1 to Bring to LSAT Test Day: Yourself. If you decide you’re not ready for the June LSAT, visit the LSAC website before midnight ET Sunday and withdraw from the LSAT to avoid an absence on your record.
Item #2 to Bring to LSAT Test Day: Your admission ticket with photo attached. You can print the ticket from LSAC’s website. The photo is a relatively new requirement for the LSAT, but you should not overlook it. LSAC is extremely picky about your photo.
