EXAM FACTS
COMLEX Level 3 should be taken in, or just after, the first year of residency. It follows the same framework as Level 1 and 2CE, but it places emphasis on the clinical concepts and principles required for appropriate patient management by a licensed general practitioner of osteopathic medicine. As with Level 2CE, the content is largely from the core clinical disciplines of emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, osteopathic principles, pediatrics, psychiatry, and surgery. Similar to Level 1 and 2CE, the assessment is problem- and symptom-based.
